Deferrizer filters – DDA

The DDA deferrizer filter aims to eliminate the presence of iron from the water, which is so annoying that it often causes corrosion and, in any case, always creates inconveniences for sanitary appliances that are coloured with unsightly reddish halos. The deferrifying filters exploit the oxidizing principle of a special manganese dioxide, a mineral found in nature, which has the characteristic of transforming iron in solution in water into the corresponding insoluble iron hydroxide and, therefore easily eliminated. The action of the dioxide also extends to manganese, which is significantly reduced, up to 90-95% of the initial load. The water to be treated must be free of suspended substances such as silt and clay to avoid compromising the effectiveness of the oxidising material. The ion separator’s field of action extends to a maximum of 6 mg/l of iron and 0.5 mg/l of manganese, which is significantly reduced to 90-95% of the initial load. Drinking water treatment equipment per Ministerial Decree 25/12 and Ministerial Decree 174/04.
